Fishing, Crabbing, and Boating in Waters Surrounding Pleasure Island

Sabine Lake, about 14 miles long and 7 miles wide with an average depth of 5 to 8 feet, is the most productive marine ecosystem in the states of Texas and Louisiana.  It is a fisherman's paradise for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder.

Public boat ramps are available at several locations on Pleasure Island.  Fishing is allowed from most of the island coastline.   Numerous guide services are available for fishing excursions.
