The Palms at Pleasure Island Golf Course (scheduled to Re-open in late 2011)
Nestled into 152 acres, The Palms at Pleasure Island boasts spectacular views of 350 palm trees, the Sabine Neches Waterway, marshland, wooded areas, and numerous elevation changes. The par 72 (36-36) course has four sets of tees for golfers of varied skills:
Miniverde greens, Tiff sport fairways, and 43 sand bunkers add to the allure of the course. The driving range has two putting greens, including one with a place to practice sand shots. The fully stocked pro shop overlooks the Sabine Neches Waterway. The adjacent snack bar offers hot and cold sandwiches, assorted snacks, soft drinks, and beer. NOTE: The irrigation system was destroyed by Hurricane Ike in 2008. Plans are underway for the installation of a new system. With growing season the key element, the goal is to reopen in late 2011.
