Sailing In Sabine Lake

Lake Sabine offers some of the best sailing on the Gulf Coast.  Predominantly southeast winds build to 12-14 knots in the afternoons.  Water temperatures range from the 60s in the winter to the 80s in the summer.  The majority of Lake Sabine has a depth of 5-8 feet.

The Pleasure Island Marina is home to small board boats, sailboats, and fishing boats.  The newly-constructed floating dock marina has 299 slips, a portion of which are within the confines of the Port Arthur Yacht Club and require club membership.  The remainder of the slips are leased by the Pleasure Island Commission.

Port Arthur Yacht Club facilities include an air-conditioned clubhouse with kitchen facilities and restrooms, a gated-entry marina area, boat hoist, ice machine, easy access to fuel and pump-out stations, and limited dry-storage facilities.

Pleasure Island Marina facilities include restrooms with showers, boat slips, a fuel station, a pump-out station, and gated entries.
